Are there times when it would be helpful to record how to use a new program for your parents, grandparents or friends? Wouldn’t it be nice to record that new trick you just happened to learn on your computer so you can remember how to do it in the future?

All of these tasks and more are available with a free program called CamStudio (

CamStudio is able to record all screen and audio activity on your computer. It even has the ability to annotate what’s on the screen to make certain actions crystal clear.

Best of all, it’s free! There are commercial products available that have many more bells and whistles, but if you don’t need anything fancy you should give CamStudio a try.

When you visit the page, scroll down to the Download Links section:

Have fun! Share your ideas for different uses for CamStudio. Who knows? Maybe you can figure out a way to make a couple bucks with one of your creations. :)
