Will Sandy impact the election?

Someone asked me recently if the re-election of President Obama was more likely to occur because of Hurricane Sandy?

Well, that stymied me so I decided to dig around a bit on the Internet to see others’ opinions. There is no shortage of those but perhaps a better question for those of us in the medical documentation field is this:

How will what we do and patient care be affected by the election results? Will politics affect the timing on ICD-10 adoption or on Stage III Meaningful Use criteria? And were Obamacare to be repealed, which does seem unlikely in any event, what impact would that have on those of us involved in clinical documentation? Or for that matter, on anyone delivering or supporting patient care?

I guess this week I have more questions than answers.
