You’re on the air

Have you ever dreamed of being a TV personality? How about broadcasting to the world? Well, here’s your chance to do it from the privacy of your own home, or wherever you want, using UStream (www.ustream.tv).

NEMT IT Magician Andrew Clarke

Every day Ustream has millions of people around the world broadcasting from a host of places. You can either watch what they’re broadcasting, or broadcast yourself. The best part is that it’s absolutely free. There’s even an iPad / iPhone app that you can use to broadcast on-the-go!

Look for content based on a host of categories like news, campaign 2012, pets and animals, entertainment, sports, music, tech, gaming, education, spirituality, and more. Within reason, your broadcast can contain anything you want. You’ll have to see their terms of service for any restrictions. You can also record your broadcasts so they can be viewed later. Who knows? You might just be the next big sensation.

Of course, you can also create and upload videos to YouTube (www.youtube.com). Using YouTube, you can upload a single video or create a custom channel where friend and not-yet-friends can follow you. Do a series on how to fix things around the house, or just try out your talents as a stand-up comedian. You can create educational videos for work. Train your coworkers on the latest copier because you’re the resident expert, or give a seminar on safety procedures in the hospital. It’s up to you.

Need more ideas? Want to flood the market? Just google “broadcast for free online” and try them all.
